Standard Modules, Induction and the Structure of the Temperley-lieb Algebra
نویسنده
چکیده
The basic properties of the Temperley-Lieb algebra TLn with parameter β = q+q −1, q ∈ C\{0}, are reviewed in a pedagogical way. The link and standard (cell) modules that appear in numerous physical applications are defined and a natural bilinear form on the standard modules is used to characterise their maximal submodules. When this bilinear form has a non-trivial radical, some of the standard modules are reducible and TLn is nonsemisimple. This happens only when q is a root of unity. Use of restriction and induction allows for a finer description of the structure of the standard modules. Finally, a particular central element Fn ∈ TLn is studied; its action is shown to be non-diagonalisable on certain indecomposable modules and this leads to a proof that the radicals of the standard modules are irreducible. Moreover, the space of homomorphisms between standard modules is completely determined. The principal indecomposable modules are then computed concretely in terms of standard modules and their inductions. Examples are provided throughout and the delicate case β = 0, that plays an important role in physical models, is studied systematically.

We study some non-semisimple representations of affine Temperley–Lieb algebras and related cellular algebras. In particular, we classify extensions between simple standard modules. Moreover, we construct a completion which is an infinite dimensional cellular algebra.
متن کاملVirtual Extension of Temperley–lieb Algebra
The virtual knot theory is a new interesting subject in the recent study of low dimensional topology. In this paper, we explore the algebraic structure underlying the virtual braid group and call it the virtual Temperley–Lieb algebra which is an extension of the Temperley–Lieb algebra by adding the group algebra of the symmetrical group. We make a connection clear between the Brauer algebra and...
متن کاملA Diagrammatic Temperley-Lieb Categorification
The monoidal category of Soergel bimodules categorifies the Hecke algebra of a finite Weyl group. In the case of the symmetric group, morphisms in this category can be drawn as graphs in the plane. We define a quotient category, also given in terms of planar graphs, which categorifies the Temperley-Lieb algebra. Certain ideals appearing in this quotient are related both to the 1skeleton of the ...
متن کاملThe Blob Algebra and the Periodic Temperley-lieb Algebra
We determine the structure of two variations on the Temperley-Lieb algebra, both used for dealing with special kinds of boundary conditions in statistical mechanics models. The first is a new algebra, the ‘blob’ algebra (the reason for the name will become obvious shortly!). We determine both the generic and all the exceptional structures for this two parameter algebra. The second is the period...

Construction of the diagrammatic version of the affine Temperley-Lieb algebra of type A N as a subring of matrices over the Laurent polynomials is given. We move towards geometrical understanding of cellular structure of the Temperley-Lieb algebra. We represent its center as a coordinate ring of the certain affine algebraic variety and describe this variety constructing its desingularization.
